Not-So-Secret Origins
Time Is Running out -- Preregister by June 11!
What's 27 years old, has tons of games, and is found only in Columbus, Ohio? No, not your cousin Frank -- we're talking about the Origins International Game Expo & Fair!
But you knew that, right? After all, Origins is one of the biggest game conventions in North America. It's the official consumer show of the Game Manufacturers Association (GAMA). It's the host of the prestigious Origins Awards for excellence in gaming. And, of course, it offers just about every kind of gaming experience imaginable. So whether you're a fan of roleplaying games, trading card games, board games, historical games, or miniatures -- or if you're just in the mood to browse the art show, get autographs from celebrity guests, or shop till you drop -- Origins has something for you.
Star Wars fans, take special note: Origins will feature a new Living Force campaign event sponsored by the RPGA. "Midworld," the second part of the "Between the Worlds" trilogy, will be held on Thursday, July 5, at 5 p.m. (event #8401), and again on Saturday, July 7, at 5 p.m. (event #8402). Play in the first part of the trilogy at conventions in June to be ready for "Midworld."
In addition, the Star Wars Roleplaying Game has been nominated for the Origins Award for Best Roleplaying Game* of 2000! You can try the game out at the show in the special nominees gaming area, where we'll be previewing JD Wiker's miniadventure "The Crypt of Saalo Morn," our July online adventure designed to complement the forthcoming Dark Side Sourcebook. If you're just learning the game, play a demo at the Wizards of the Coast booth with game designer Jeff Grubb.
Origins will be held July 5 to 8 in Columbus, Ohio. To preregister for the convention, learn about travel arrangements and con events, get up-to-the-minute information, and view highlight videos from past shows, check out the official Origins website. But hurry -- the last day to preregister is June 11!
