For a moment, it seemed that the Western invasion would fail, despite having four players in the Top 8. Jeff Fung even remarked after winning his semifinal match: "If all goes as it should, Fujita should win his match, and then beat me." However Frederick Salazar, the dark horse from The Philippines, would not be denied. He smashed Fujita, and then squared off against Fung. It was exactly the matchup Fung wanted. With surgical precision, Fung dismantled Salazar's offense and flew in to win it in two. Congratulations to Jeff Fung, Grand Prix - Hong Kong Champion!
