Eligibility
- The Magic: the Gathering Icelandic National Championship is open to citizens or permanent residents of Iceland.
Registration Requirements
To register, all participants must present one of the following forms of identification:
- A driver's license, or
- A passport, or
- A copy of a birth certificate and photo ID (school IDs are acceptable)
Players not registered by 09.50 Juli 12th may be denied entry to Icelandic Nationals.
Registration times and locations
Registration on site, opens Sunday Juli 12th at 08.50 and closes the same day at 9.50
Format
- Standard and Booster Draft
- 1 Shards of Alara, 1 Conflux, and 1 Alara Reborn booster pack will be used for drafting
- Deck lists are required

Tournament Length
- The number and format order of Swiss rounds will be based on attendance:
- 64 players or less: 3 rounds Standard followed by 3 rounds Booster Draft
- 65-128 players: 4 rounds Standard followed by 3 rounds Booster Draft
- 129 or more players: 5 rounds Standard followed by 3 rounds Booster Draft
- Top 8 single-elimination finals have no time limit; however, players are expected to play at a reasonable pace and finish their matches within 90 minutes.
Advancement
- All players may participate in all Swiss rounds
- After the final Swiss round, the top 8 players advance to the top 8 single-elimination finals
Top 8
- Standard format
- Top 8 matches will be best 3 of 5
Invitations
- The winner will receive an invitation to the 2009 World Championships.
Notes
- 40K, REL Competitive
- Players are required to use the same Standard deck for the Swiss rounds and the Top 8.
- All Universal Tournament Rules and Magic: the Gathering Floor Rules are in effect for this event unless specifically overruled by information in this Format Document
