TCGPlayer.com Commander columnist Cassidy Silver has been looking for an opportunity to break out a deck full of fat creatures. The perfect commander for the job? Mayael the Anima! Set with a list of some of the largest creatures in the game, Cassidy pared that down to end up with his top choices.
This deck has one primary focus: activate Mayael! Every activation should yield a huge creature—and at instant speed, no less! Everything from purely gigantic creatures like Hamletback Goliath to creatures with abilities like Garruk's Horde to "smaller" utility creatures like Seedborn Muse make an appearance. If your opponents make the mistake of not immediately removing Mayael, they will quickly find themselves staring down an army.
In addition to your Commander, this deck has plenty of other ways to cheat cards into play. Sneak Attack, Call of the Wild, Lurking Predators, Impromptu Raid, and more conspire against your opponents, ensuring swarms of monsters even if they fight off Mayael. And, of course, sometimes you can just draw your Sol Ring and cast these big creatures as well!
