Welcome to the Planeswalker Points program!
Planeswalker Points is a worldwide system that rewards you for entering the battlefield and defeating your foes! You get Planeswalker Points for every sanctioned event you play, and you get even more for each victory. As well as points you can earn achievements for playing Magic! It's easy! Just find a participating location near you and play the Magic: The Gathering trading card game.
Every time you set foot on the battlefield, you get points!

Whether it's Friday Night Magic, a Pro Tour Qualifier, or a Grand Prix, when you play Magic in a sanctioned event, you earn points. As you hone your spell-slinging skills and defeat more foes, you'll receive even more points. At certain point totals, you'll level up in the Planeswalker Points program and improve your rank; the levels go all the way up to Archmage!

Want more points? Here's how to get 'em:
  • Seek out and defeat your opponents.

Each match you win gets you even more points. Learn More

  • Step into bigger arenas and face the best.

The larger the tournament, the more participation points you'll receive, no matter where you finish. Learn More

  • Special events carry a point multiplier!

Play in a Grand Prix Trial and you'll score 3x as many points. A Pro Tour Qualifier is good for 5x the points. And that’s just the beginning!

Lifetime Points
Every sanctioned event adds to your total.
Play in any sanctioned event (where an organizer schedules and reports the event to Wizards of the Coast) and you'll start accruing points. This includes casual and competitive events, so talk to the organizer at your favorite locations and make sure your play counts.
More players? More wins? More points!
Receive even more points for winning matches and playing in larger events. Bring your friends with you whenever you play (and then defeat them!) for maximum point potential.
Your past battles can also mean points.
Been playing in sanctioned Magic events for years? Then you've been earning Planeswalker Points the whole time. Your Lifetime Points total includes points from all reported sanctioned event you've ever played in, even ones before Planeswalker Points began!
Seasonal/Yearly Award
Play and win to get byes!
Seasonal Award Points may get you byes at upcoming Grand Prix events and are accrued over the course of a Seasonal Award Season. The more you play and win, the more awards you may receive. Nab up to as many as three byes for each Grand Prix tournament you play in.
Represent your country on the international stage!
Yearly Award Points track your progress throughout an entire designated year. Play and win and you’ll qualify for the chance to play in a World Magic Cup Qualifier, one step away from representing your country at this prestigious event.
It's never too late to get started.
Your Seasonal Award and Yearly Award Points reset as seasons end and new ones begin. And with tons of points available at events with higher multipliers, like Grand Prix events, you're never out of the running for greatness.
Look for tournaments near you.
Only sanctioned competitive events (not casual events) contribute to your Seasonal Award and Yearly Award Points, so find a retailer near you with the Store & Event Locator. Is your favorite store not listed? Make sure they are sanctioning their events so your play counts. Retailers can find out how to sanction events at www.wizards.com/wpn.
Professional Total
The ultimate proving ground.
When you compete on one of the most elite battlefields available, you'll get Professional Points. Rare and valuable, these points prove you've stepped up your game and potentially help qualify you for future Magic events.
Compete for global domination.
You can only get Professional Points by participating in Pro Tours, Grand Prix, the Magic World Championship, or the World Magic Cup. Professional Points determine invitations to the World Magic Cup and the Magic World Championship, as well as determining your level in the Pro Players Club. Whether you’re Silver, Gold, or Platinum you may also be eligible to receive select awards as you battle to be declared the best in the world.
