Why It Rocks: The Gnoll Cleric is Naresh’s best commander and, in fact, it ranks alongside the best commanders in the game.

Tricks and Tactics: There are so many good ways to use the Gnoll Cleric, it’s more worthwhile to mention the way you can turn its one tactical problem into an advantage.

The Gnoll Cleric’s heavy armor slows it down. It has trouble keeping up with its fast comrades; if you push your Abyssal troops forward quickly, it’s not uncommon for the Cleric to reach the battle after the rest of your troops have fought the enemy to a standstill. Fortunately the Cleric has the spells, armor, and melee attack to finish the job all by itself.

Enemies Who Hate to See It: Models with generally low melee attack scores, like the undead and many ranged attackers, can’t cope with the Gnoll Cleric’s full-plate protection, much less its shield of faith spell.
