Chainmail Set 3: Human Templar
By Bruce R. Cordell and Rob Heinsoo
Model: Human Templar
Why It Rocks: What does the Human Templar have going for it? Good health, great melee attack, high damage: Its the armored warrior with a big sword that Thalos has been waiting for.
Tricks and Tactics: Compared to most warriors who pack this type of punch, the Templar is easy to command. Hes not even a Difficult x2 Troop, and Thalos has the best commanders in the game, so youll be able to maneuver the Templar to strike where hes needed most and still give him a +2 bonus to attacks. If your commander is the Paladin of Stratis, you can give three Human Templars a +2 attack bonus on the same round!
The simplest trick that takes advantage of the Human Templars unique Sidestep ability is this: Shift it around slightly in combat to place it in contact with more than one enemy troop. If it can drop one enemy with the Templars normal attack, the models Cleave ability lets it make another strike.
Enemies Who Hate to See It: Enemies with 3 health or lower hate fighting the Templars two-strikes-for-the-price-of one special ability combo.
