Set 2: Otyugh
By Bruce R. Cordell and Rob Heinsoo

Model:
Otyugh
Faction:
Neutral
Why
It Rocks: Ever hungry, these garbage-eating monsters are good for
more than just cleaning up after your warband. With their acquisitive
tentacles, they have a chance to grab and hold enemy models motionless.
Tricks
and Tactics: Already difficult, and always cross-faction, Otyughs
are hard to command. It takes 4 command points to put an Otyugh under
command in order to maneuver or rally. If you have an Otyugh in your warband,
you might opt to let it stand every round until you can send it against
a clearly sighted enemy in range (preferably in a straight line, perfect
for a charge -- because the Otyughs have reach, they dont draw attacks
of opportunity as they charge a large foe like themselves). Alternatively,
you may want to keep the Otyugh near your commander -- with its reach,
it is a great bodyguard, getting an attack of opportunity against foes
who rush in. At 6 health, Otyughs are healthy enough to stand up to one
hit even from a heavy-hitter without saving morale. Thats good,
because you really want your Otyugh to stick around long enough to get
its Extra Melee Attack. And heres the sweet part: Every time your
Otyugh gets a hit, it has the chance to use its Constrict ability, holding
the enemy model and making it lose its action for the round. The saving
throw to resist Constrict is fairly easy, but with the Otyughs Extra
Melee Attack, theres a fair chance the enemy model is going to lose
a round.
Enemies
Who Hate to See It: Warbands containing models with an Extra Melee
Attack hate to see an Otyugh. If the Otyugh successfully Constricts, the
enemy model loses both of its attacks.
