Set 2: Tiefling Fighter
By Bruce R. Cordell and Rob Heinsoo

Model:
Tiefling
Fighter
Faction:
Naresh
Why
It Rocks: Tieflings are half-human, half-demonic children of the lower
hells. Though Tiefling Fighters usually can pass for human, their passions
are far darker, and their proficiency on the battlefield more deadly.
With resistances of their demonic heritage, their ability to fight blindly,
and their ability to command other troops, Tiefling Fighters are terrifying
enemies against any warband.
Tricks
& Tactics: A Tiefling Fighter should attempt to make use of his
command points first to help maneuver the warband. At some point, he's
going to want to target his darkness spell against an opposing
model or on the center of the battlefield. The Tiefling Fighter can fight
well inside his darkness spell-effect thanks to its Blind-Fight
ability.
Ideally,
you can build a warband of models with similar Blind-Fight or Blindsight*
abilities. Of the evil models in Set 2, this means you'll want to pair
the Tiefling Fighter with Grimlock Troopers. When the darkness
spell cloaks the battlefield, all normally-sighted enemies will miss the
Tiefling Fighter half the time no matter how high their attack. So throw
down the darkness and move in to bring the Tiefling Fighter's respectable
attack and damage to bear. Don't worry if more than one enemy model attacks
you -- if you can knock one down one foe, you can use the Tiefling Fighter's
Cleave ability to attack an adjoining enemy model for free.
Enemies
Who Hate to See It: Warbands aiming for quick wins groan the loudest
when they see the Tiefling Fighter. If your gaming group plays with many
of these leaders, expect to see the good warbands scramble for models
with daylight spells to counter the darkness.
