201 -- A Historical Reference
By Mark A. Jindra
long ago I was reading through the Monster Manual and came across
the section on golems. It brought back some great memories about a campaign
I used to run with golems as a focal point. I found several creative ways
to use golems: They appeared as guardians of a tomb, an assistant to a
local blacksmith, and as an army that assaulted a stronghold where a party
took refuge. A player character even had a golem as a sidekick for a while.
I thought it might be fun to recreate a few of the more memorable golems
for the new D&D game, so here goes nothing.
Note: Base statistics presented here
for clay, flesh, and iron golems appear in the Monster
statistics for the ruby golem appear in Monster
Compendium: Monsters of Faerûn.
