Q: What is Dungeons & Dragons E-Tools: Character and Monster Generator (D&D E-Tools)?

A: E-Tools allows users to create, customize, share, and print characters, monsters, races, treasure, NPCs, and encounters. In addition, users may tailor E-Tools to incorporate house rules into their creations. Lastly, E-Tools includes a comprehensive help file system that spans the tables and listings of the Player's Handbook, the Dungeon Master's Guide, and the Monster Manual, the three core rulebooks.

Q: How will Dungeons & Dragons E-Tools: Character and Monster Generator be distributed?

A: You can find E-Tools at select hobby game stores and at the online Wizards store.

Q: When is D&D Master Tools being released?

A: The Master Tools product as it was first envisioned and announced will not be released. Depending on the success of E-Tools we will reevaluate the possibility of producing additional tools.

Q: What is the difference between D&D E-Tools and the software originally announced as Master Tools?

A: Master Tools originally included a mapper, which was developed using the Arcanum Engine technology, authored by Troika Games. E-Tools does not include this mapper.

Q: How come you are not including the mapper function in D&D E-Tools?

A: After extensive review and testing, the mapper, originally designed for use in computer game play, was not found to be useful in tabletop RPG play, and so the decision was made to remove this function from the product.

Q: Do you plan on releasing software that includes the mapper function at a later date?

A: The success of E-Tools will determine if additional tools, including a mapper, will be produced for E-Tools.

Q: What is the MSRP for D&D E-Tools?

A: Retail prices may vary from store to store. The software market handles pricing differently than books and games.
