Wizards
Celebrates Birthrights Anniversary
Long-awaited
products now published FREE online!

In 1995 TSR released
a new AD&D roleplaying setting, one that let you play the ruler
of a kingdom amid "a chaotic patchwork of nations, cultures, and
religions."* Birthright, a sweeping campaign of divine rulership
and magical bloodsilver, earned the Origins Award for Best Roleplaying
Supplement and the RPGA Networks Gamers Choice Award the year
of its release. It quickly became known for its epic illustration, mythic
monsters, grand storylines, and legendary characters -- a setting beloved
by power gamers and "story" fans alike.
The Birthright
line also was known for its sheer quantity of published titles. During
its four-year run, 25 roleplaying products and five novels carried the
familiar sword-and-shield banner. That number becomes even more amazing
when you consider that three quarters of these titles appeared during
the product lines first two years.
The Birthright
line was suspended in 1998 before completing its publishing schedule.
Now, in recognition of the anniversary of this award-winning line and
in appreciation for the continued loyalty of its fans, were proud
to present an online Birthright celebration. Every week on these pages
we will offer new Birthright material, much of it never before
published.
For the first time,
you will be able to read Birthright creator Richard Bakers
novel The Falcon & the Wolf, popular designer Ed Starks
long-awaited supplement The Book of Regency, and the much talked-about
Birthright Board Game direct from the Gen Con game fair!
In addition, we will offer reflections and anecdotes from the series
writers and editors.
We hope you will enjoy
rediscovering this memorable game line with these original publications
from our design staff.
