Dungeon Feature Types
Adventure Path
An Adventure Path is a series of related adventures which together form a complete D&D campaign. Our Scales of War Adventure Path takes your characters from 1st to 30th level.
Adventures
Each month,
Dungeon
brings you the best in D&D adventures. Each issue features adventures spanning a range of levels, each easily adaptable to any campaign setting.
Art Galleries
Stroll the hallowed halls of the D&D Art Gallery. You won't find stodgy security guards or noisy tour groups here, but you will see artwork from the world's most popular roleplaying game.
Backdrops
If you're not sure what your next adventure should entail, check out a Backdrop. Each article presents all the information you need to run multiple adventures--possibly an entire campaign.
Bestiary
If it's a monster you're looking for, then the Bestiary is your destination. This recurring feature presents only the best in brand-new, innovative monster design.
Campaign Classics
If you're looking to revisit a classic, out-of-print campaign setting, check Campaign Classics. Each article takes an element from one of D&D's favorite settings and updates it to 4th Edition.
Codex of Betrayal
Hell is full of unique, powerful devils. This dark tome--almost as legendary in the world as Iggwilv's treatise on the demon princes--is said to magically grow with new entries on these devils.
Court of Stars
The Feywild is home to many powerful creatures—eladrin princes, courts that follow the seasons, and fomorian lords. But some fey grow to a level of power that can rival even the gods.
Creature Incarnations
If you're looking for variants of existing monsters from print products or past issues of the magazines—look no further. This is where you'll find a fresh version of a kobold, orc, or gnoll.
Deities & Demigods
The deities of D&D have plots within machinations at work on all the planes of existence. Learn about these powerful beings, their exarchs, and their followers in this ongoing series.
Demonomicon
One of the most famous tomes of D&D, the Demonomicon of Iggwilv, is filled with obscure and hard-won information on the most powerful and dangerous demon princes in the Abyss.
Domains of Dread
The Shadowfell is full of strange reflections of the mortal world. Domains of Dread are the most twisted of these echoes, where dark lords rule their domains as penance for a life of evil.
Dungeoncraft
Join James Wyatt, author of the 4th Edition Dungeon Master's Guide, as he builds a new campaign. You'll get practical advice and real examples from the world he's creating.
Excerpts
We're pleased to present select excerpts from forthcoming sourcebooks. Take a sneak peek inside all of our latest offerings! You'll be the best-informed player at the table.
Expeditionary Dispatches
Check out the latest on Eberron by author Keith Baker and others.
Features
Each issue of Dragon brings you fresh new features to bring new ideas to your game.
Lords of Chaos
At the dawn of time, the gods and primordials fought a battle unlike any other. The gods were victorious, and the primordials—once rulers of chaos—were thrown down, slain, or imprisoned.
Map Galleries
Stroll through the scroll racks in our great library of maps, the wonder of the cartographic world. Explorers and adventurers scour the globe to bring back the best maps known.
Maps of Mystery
Dungeon leads the pack when it comes to cartography. Each month brings a new Map of Mystery—tagged and untagged versions of an original map ready to drop into your campaign.
Realmslore
The Forgotten Realms is filled with unexplored nooks and crannies. Each Realmslore article turns over one of the many rocks in the Realms to reveal the potential adventure it conceals.
Roll vs Role
D&D monsters shouldn't be shoehorned into one particular function. Each episode of Roll vs. Role picks a monster and demonstrates a multitude of ways to use it in your campaign.
Ruling Skill Challenges
Skill challenges are a powerful tool and a common stumbling block for DMs. This column shares real insights into how to build and run exciting, balanced skill challenges.
Save My Game
Got a problem in your D&D campaign? Stephen Radney-Macfarland, game developer and longtime DM, can solve it with practical, straightforward DMing advice.
Steal This Hook
This column brings you, the DM, a bevy of ideas to steal for your campaign.
The Ecology of...
Ever wondered about the anatomy of a mind flayer, the mating habits of a bulette, or the military training of a fire archon? Ecology articles explore the lives of D&D monsters in depth.
