Banned Card Announcement

It has been brought to our attention that Ugnaught from the Rogues and Scoundrels set can enable a Dark Side deck to win on the first turn an unacceptable percentage of the time. In response, Ugnaught has been immediately added to the new Stars Wars TCG banned list.

We are very proud of the fact that we have not needed to ban any cards from the Star Wars TCG up to this point, and regret the need to deliver this announcement. However, when any deck archetype is capable of winning with this high of a percentage, especially on the first turn, we will take whatever steps are necessary to help restore balance to the tournament environment. It is unfortunate that we have to make this announcement with so little time before the 2004 Star Wars TCG Championship Qualifiers begin. In the future, if a card warrants banning we will do our best to give at least one month’s notice.
