Sith Lord

Throughout the history of Sith civilization, many have claimed to be a Sith or a Sith Lord, though the title was not necessarily earned. In the early years of Sith society, a Sith Lord was someone of high rank in Sith society. In later years, after the Sith reformation, the title of Sith Lord was comparable to that of Jedi Knight. In general, if you were known as a Sith Lord, you were known as a powerful master of Sith knowledge. Several Sith Lords took on the moniker “Darth”, for reasons that are not completely clear. However, many believe that the title Darth was a contraction of the title “Dark lord of the Sith”.
