During the Jedi Civil War, the far-reaching Czerka Corporation supplied material to the Sith Empire. However, that didn't stop them from operating facilities throughout the Republic as well. Even though the corporation was morally ambiguous, employees occasionally failed to toe the company line.
Czerka 431 was one of the corporation's hidden research facilities on the fringes of known space. Unlike most Czerka facilities, the Sith military took direct control to assess the suitability of its work for the war effort and possible manufacture by the Star Forge. Joni Ree, a company scientist in charge of experimenting with juggernaut war droids, decided that she'd had enough of her new bosses. She arranged for the Republic to "discover" Czerka 431's location and coordinated their arrival with her escape attempt. The Sith, of course, were aware of her dislike of them, and they kept her locked up while she continued to work with the droids. They also assigned a formidable heavy assault droid to defend the facility and further discourage the scientist. |
Joni plans to use the juggernauts to blast her way out as the Republic forces enter the facility. The Republic rescue team hopes to deny the Sith a new weapon by helping her escape. The Sith, on the other hand, want very much to keep Joni working for them. However, they're under orders not to kill her under any circumstances, which hinders their efforts to prevent her escape.
This scenario features miniatures from the Knights of the Old Republic set. It uses the Chancellor's Starship map from the Star Wars MiniaturesStarter Set or Ultimate Missions: Revenge of the Sith.

Special Scenario Rules
Surprise Attack: The scenario begins with the Czerka Scientist's surprise attack. The Republic player automatically wins initiative in the first round and must use the first activation on the Juggernaut War Droid's Shatter Beam ability, targeting the door of area A. The second activation of this turn is up to the Republic player and may use any available Republic unit. Following activations, turns and rounds proceed normally.
Set for Stun: Joni knew that the Sith would try to stun her during the escape attempt, so she created a device to revive herself. All Sith attacks made against the Czerka Scientist do not defeat the character. Instead, the character is considered activated for the remainder of the round (and does not carry over into the next round). The character may then act normally the following round. Note that while Joni is stunned, her allies do not benefit from her special abilities.
