As you can see, the final four slots will be awarded to the four highest (uninvited) players from the Player's Ballot. Here's how it will work. Each DCI member may submit one ballot with up to sixteen votes. The ballot consists of last year's invitees and every player from the 2001-2002 season with a minimum of 12 pro points (the minimum equivalent of attending every Pro Tour for the 2001-2002 season). Note that several qualified players are ineligible for the ballot. (These players may still qualify through other means.) Explanations for ineligibility can be found below.
The deadline for voting is 12:00 pm PDT on Thursday, August 29, 2002. The sixteen invitees will be announced on-line once the final list is compiled.
WARNING: Be aware that falsely using another player's DCI number is a serious offense and may result in suspension.

Mark Rosewater is Head Magic Designer. What this fancy title means is that he's in charge of Magic design. This gets him a lot of mail (which he actually reads). When not alternatively destroying and saving Magic, he likes to spend time with his family, do stereotypically geeky things (play games, read comics, watch a lot of science fiction, etc.) and write about himself in third person.
