In the wilds, there are those who fight nature, those who avoid nature, and those who avoid civilization by taking refuge in nature. There are those who fight civilization on behalf of nature. And there is one who seeks, eventually, to make nature and civilization one, but on his own terms. This is Clevadoran, a wolflord who seeks to make all beings a part of his pack. This is an ambitious goal, but Clevadoran is an elf and has the time to work toward it.
In your campaign, Clevadoran and his pack might be encountered in a wilderness area causing trouble or perhaps defending a small settlement against a larger threat (and therefore he becomes a temporary ally). Since he is not strictly villainous, he can play many roles before embroiling the characters in his grand designs.
Clevadoran and his pack are ready to be used in your campaign in a variety of ways; use him with imagination and he can trouble (or assist) your player characters for years.
Clevadoran the Wolflord
The wilderness is home to many creatures both friendly and dangerous. Some would say that the most dangerous are the ones that walk on two legs, but in the fantastic world of D&D, there are always surprises. You may, for example, see a wolf standing before you and not realize that it is far more dangerous than it looks. For this wolf might be the wolflord Clevadoran looking you over.
Miskeine, Clevadoran's Cohort
Like many of the creatures in Clevadoran's service, Miskeine was a stray. A little too civilized for her tribe, she tried to bring them some of the advances that civilization has to offer over the primitive life. She was put out of the tribe for her efforts. Wandering the forest, she ran afoul of some trolls and would have ended as troll supper had not Clevadoran come to her aid. After the rescue, they talked, and Miskeine decided to join Clevadoran's pack.
Clevadoran has many wolves that follow him, but among these his favorites, and his most unusual, are Zephyr and Mica. These special wolves are his constant companions.
All good opponents need good lairs, and Clevadoran is no exception. His base and home is a den that follows the wolf theme that dominates his life.
New Magic Spells and Items
Clevadoran has a new spell or two that he uses to protect the secrecy of his den. These spells all deal with covering one's presence or signs of one's presence, as does the item that is included in this installment.
