Map-a-Week Fiendish Codex II, Part 1 November 2006

If you've never encountered a devil in your game (or used a devil NPC), you should take a look at Fiendish Codex II: Tyrants of the Nine Hells. You'll not only gain some insights into these villainous, scheming creatures, but you might just find a tool or two that your character can use against them. Dungeon Masters should take special note of the map options below, because they can serve as great props for your devilish game -- or any game if you feel like adjusting these maps somewhat. We're also including a few other maps for your amusement.

12/13 Lakes of Bile: This series of reeking lakes and pools produces a variety of potent poisons and acids, which are bottled for export by a small army of nupperibos and spinagons. The devils running this industry object violently to intruders attempting to filch their wares. Toxic fumes rise from the churning pools, mixing to unpredictable effect. |

12/06 The Maggot Pit: Because it is the closest to the other planes, this is the most famous of Hell's many facilities for converting the shriven souls of the damned into wretched lemures. A mammoth crater, filled with ooze and writhing white worms, the Maggot Pit radiates almost an almost palpable sense of evil and corruption. |
