2008 D&D Miniatures Championships

The 2008 Dungeons & Dragons Miniatures Limited Championship will be held at D&D Experience in Arlington, Virginia, offering $5,000 in cash prizes!

March 1st -2nd, 2008
Registration: Saturday 9:00 a.m. (tournament start at 10:00 a.m.)

Invitations and Eligibility

All players in good standing with the DCI who hold an invitation to the 2008 D&D Miniatures Limited Championship are eligible to compete in the event. The invitation list is compiled by the following criteria:

• Returning 2007 D&D Miniatures Constructed Championship winner
• Top 2 finishers from each D&D Miniatures 2007 Championship Series Qualifier
• Top 4 finishers in each D&D Miniatures Championship Series Open (details below)
• Top 100 D&D Miniatures worldwide DCI Limited ranked players, announced six weeks before the Championship

Format

• Assault format sealed pack (2 sealed pack builds with 2 Desert of Desolation Booster Packs per player each) with top 8 booster draft (2 Desert of Desolation Booster Packs per player)
• The second sealed pack build will take place after round 4
• 200-point warbands
• Warband lists are required
• Check www.thedci.com for Limited-format rules

Tournament Length

8 Swiss rounds - 60 minutes per round

Maps for each round will be provided on-site.

• Round 1: Marketplace
• Round 2: Frostfell Rift
• Round 3: Ratfang Sewers
• Round 4: Hailstorm Keep
• Round 5: Marketplace
• Round 6: Frostfell Rift
• Round 7: Ratfang Sewers
• Round 8: Hailstorm Keep
• Top 8: Jungle Temple. A copy of this map will be viewable online approximately six weeks before the Championship

Advancement

• All players may participate in all 8 Swiss rounds.
• The top 8 players after the final Swiss round will advance to the top 8 single-elimination finals on Sunday March 2nd

Top 8

• Top 8 matches will have a 60-minute time limit
• Where necessary, the standings after the Swiss rounds will still be used to determine final order in the standings.

Prizes

First place

• $2,000 USD
• Exclusive hand-painted miniature available only at the Championship

Second place

• $1,000 USD
• Exclusive hand-painted miniature available only at the Championship

Third-Fourth place

• $500 USD
• Exclusive hand-painted miniature available only at the Championship

Fifth-Eighth place

• $250 USD

Ninth-Sixteenth place

• D&D Miniatures product

All cash prizes are paid by check approximately four weeks after the Championship.

• 32K, Competitive REL
• All Universal Tournament Rules and D&D Miniatures Floor Rules are in effect for this event unless specifically overruled by information in this Format Document
• Players must bring pen, paper, map sheets, and appropriate counters

D&D Miniatures Championship Open Tournaments

On Thursday, February 27th, and Friday, February 28th, at D&D Experience, Wizards of the Coast will host the final chances for you to win an invitation to the Championship - the D&D Miniatures Limited Championship Series Open events.

This tournament is open to all players who do not hold an invitation to the Championship. The top 4 finishers after the Swiss rounds will win invitations to the D&D Miniatures Limited Championship the next day.
