2007 D&D Miniatures Championships

The 2007 Dungeons & Dragons Miniatures Limited Championship will be held at D&D Experience in Arlington, Virginia, offering $5,000 in cash prizes and an opportunity for the winner to work with the Wizards of the Coast R&D department to develop a D&D battlemap of their choosing!

This is your very last chance to win a spot in our Limited Championship finals! Build your best warband from two Blood War Booster Packs and vie for a spot in our finals. Prizes for top eight finishers.

Saturday, 10 a.m.
Limited Championships - Finals
It's down to the best of the best to prove who is the best at building a 200-point warband from two Blood War Booster Packs. Note: This event is free to all qualifiers.

Sunday, 10 a.m.

Our final eight players face off in the single elimination rounds. Note: This event is free to all qualifiers.

Invitations and Eligibility

All players in good standing with the DCI who hold an invitation to the 2007 D&D Miniatures Limited Championship are eligible to compete in the event. The invitation list is compiled by the following criteria:

• Returning 2006 D&D Miniatures Constructed Championship winner
• Top 4 finishers from each D&D Miniatures 2006 Championship Series Qualifier
• Top 8 finishers in the D&D Miniatures Championship Series Open (details below)
• Top 25 D&D Miniatures worldwide DCI Limited rated players not currently invited, announced six weeks before the Championship

Format

• Assault format Sealed pack (2 sealed pack builds with 2 Blood War Booster Packs per player each) with top 8 booster draft (2 Blood War Booster Packs per player)
• The second sealed pack build will take place after round 4
• 200-point warbands
• Warband lists are required

Tournament Length

8 Swiss rounds - 60 minutes per round

Top 8: Marketplace. A copy of the map will be shown to all attendees at the R&D Seminar on Thursday morning and will be available during the show at the R&D question desk between 2 PM – 6 PM Thursday and 9 AM – 6 PM Friday and Saturday

Advancement

• All players may participate in all 8 Swiss rounds.
• The top 8 players after the final Swiss round will advance to the top 8, single-elimination finals on Sunday, February 18th.

Top 8

• Top 8 matches will have a 60-minute time limit
• Where necessary, the standings after the Swiss rounds will still be used to determine final order in the standings.

Prizes

First place

• $2,000 USD
• Opportunity to work with the Wizards of the Coast R&D department to develop a D&D battlemap of their choosing, for inclusion within a future set of D&D Miniatures.
• Exclusive hand-painted miniature available only at the Championship

Second place

• $1,000 USD
• Exclusive hand-painted miniature available only at the Championship

Third-Fourth place

• $500 USD
• Exclusive hand-painted miniature available only at the Championship

Fifth-Eighth place

• $250 USD

Ninth-Sixteenth place

• D&D Miniatures product

All cash prizes are paid by check approximately four weeks after the Championship.

• 32K, REL 3
• All Universal Tournament Rules and D&D Miniatures Floor Rules are in effect for this event unless specifically overruled by information in this Format Document
• Players must bring pen, paper, terrain tiles, map sheet, and appropriate counters

D&D Miniatures Championship Open

On Friday February 16th at D&D Experience, Wizards of the Coast will host the final chance for you to win an invitation to the Championship: the D&D Miniatures Limited Championship Series Open.

This tournament is open to all players who do not hold an invitation to the Championship. The top 8 finishers after the Swiss rounds will win invitations to the D&D Miniatures Limited Championship the next day.
