Legendary Evils
Preview 5

We're winding down Legendary Evils with this penultimate preview. Enjoy!

I first saw this preview's huge miniature in the first edition Monster Manual – the Remorhaz. It's back in 4th edition in the recent Monster Manual 2. The design behind this creature specifically placed it to work well with giants: a Remorhaz, Frost Titan, and Frost Giant encounter is about 20th level, and it's made up of all Visible figures from Legendary Evils and Dangerous Delves.

Three new chromatic dragons can be found in the pages of Draconomicon, and one of those is in this set. It's the only large rare dragon in the set, the Adult Brown Dragon -- usable as either a Level 10 or a Level 3 Solo monster.

The Hezrou is another large rare figure in Legendary Evils. The original Hezrou was released back in summer 2005. I prefer this new one as the color shows up a little better and the neck is better defined.

We have a couple of goblinoid miniatures in the set. You'll see two in the last preview, and a new Barghest will be in August and Beyond's article. For today, I give the leader: Bolraza, Priestess of Bane. This hobgoblin rare is an Elite Controller (Leader) that inspires her allies to fight -- as a minor action once per round, she can grant an ally a basic attack.

Finally, today's common figure is the Doomdreamer. This cultist of Tharizdun was pulled from the pages of 3rd edition's Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil. He wears the purple robes common in his cult and the symbol of the Elemental Eye hangs from his neck.

That's it for today. Next time, the final preview for Legendary Evils!
