Today's three miniatures have ties to the first two campaign settings released for 4th Edition, Forgotten Realms and Eberron.
Male Human Swordmage
This miniature is based on prototype art for Geran Hulmaster, the main character in the first full 4th Edition novel set in the Forgotten Realms: Richard Baker's novel Swordmage. This miniature is also a first -- it is the first Swordmage miniature produced by Wizards of the Coast. Arcane Heroes 3 also contains a new swordmage attack power, frostwind blade. When you strike an enemy with this at-will, another enemy Marked by you takes additional damage.
Female Human Wizard
Our second miniature also comes from the Forgotten Realms. This one is based on the art for the 3rd Edition Hathran prestige class found in the Player's Guide to Faerūn. These mask-wearing Wychlaran come from Rashemen, a cold region in the northeast section of the continent. I'm not going to mention much about the Wychlaran here, but more info for the hathrans can be found on page 168 of the Forgotten Realms Campaign Guide. The associated power for this miniature is refocus.
We now change gears to Eberron and look at the Warforged Artificer. We've had quite a few warforged figures in the past, but many of them have been simple fighters. Like the Warforged Cleric, the Warforged Artificer breaks the warforged out of its typical defender role. Packaged with this miniature is the at-will power unbalancing force, an attack power that allows an ally to push a target when it is hit with an attack.
In a couple of days, I'll finish up the previews for the Player's Handbook Heroes miniatures. Until then, have fun!
