Dangerous Delves
Preview 4

Another Wednesday, another preview. Let's get right into it with a question -- what's the most iconic D&D creature that hasn't been made into a miniature yet? If you said Rust Monster, you're wrong -- here it is! This creature is found in Monster Manual 2 (releasing next month), and you'll also be able to find it in Dangerous Delves as an uncommon miniature. Those metal armor-wearing PCs all around the world are now officially terrified.

Speaking of Monster Manual 2 monsters, this week's visible miniature preview is the Frost Giant. At level 17, the Frost Giant is the second highest-level visible figure in Dangerous Delves. It's been a couple of years since our last Frost Giant (Jarl), but you won't have long to wait for some help -- this summer you'll be able to get his big (maybe I should say huge?) brother.

Last week I mentioned the three, err … five foulspawns that will be out over the next couple of sets. Also coming this year are quite a few of those well known escaped servants of the mind flayers, the githyanki and the githzerai. You'll find the rare Githyanki Warrior and the rare Githzerai Zerth in Dangerous Delves, and more of both races are coming.

Finally, the level 3 Blood Scarab is something new to 4th Edition. This common lurker is portrayed scrambling out of the ground to ambush your PCs.

Next time -- a second look into the Feywild.
