D&D Miniatures
Demonweb Preview 7
Big, Dumb Friends
by Peter Lee

Demonweb has something not seen since the Wardrums set: a pair of large miniatures of the same race. Back then it was the uncommon Hill Giant Barbarian and the rare Hill Giant Chieftain. For Demonweb, we have the uncommon Ogre Pulverizer and the rare Brutal Ogre Warhulk.

Ogre Pulverizer

The Ogre Pulverizer is a basic ogre similar to the one found way back in Harbinger -- a big guy with a big tree trunk club. This time, he's uncommon, making it much easier to collect a set of four to use as the minion version of the ogre found in the Monster Manual.

His clothing is crude furs and pieces of bone, making him a good member of a tribe of ogre savages. This figure has the weaponry for three different ogres in the mMonster Manual with level ranges from 8 to 16.

For the leader of a tribe of ogres, we have the Brutal Ogre Warhulk. In the Monster Manual, the ogre warhulk is a level 11 elite brute -- a formidable foe for late heroic tier campaigns. His equipment is a bit higher quality than the Ogre Pulverizer, but that isn't saying much. His shoulders are adorned with discarded shields and other pieces of wood.

Both the Ogre Pulverizer and the Brutal Ogre Warhulk were sculpted at the same time, making it much easier to have an artistic theme that makes these two ogres look like they belong to the same tribe.

Next week, the penultimate preview for Demonweb!
