1st-Place Trophy for Constructed Championship

Gen Con Indy is right around the corner, and it's chock full of terrific D&D Miniatures events. Whether you're a top-level competitor, an up-and-coming contender, a casual player looking for a few matches, or a DDM rookie interested in something new, you'll find an event that's right for you.

The events schedule shown below is an abbreviated version. The full chart can be downloaded directly from the Gen Con site.

Start times are listed in 24-hour (military) style. "Dur." indicates how long the event lasts in hours. "Minis?" indicates whether miniatures are provided for the event ("Yes") or you're expected to bring your own ("No"). "Game ID" will help you to locate these events on the Gen Con master list.

As of this article's posting, most of these events still have at least a few open slots. If you haven't pre-registered, don't delay when you reach the show.

Event Descriptions

2nd-Place Trophy for Constructed Championship

100-pt. Limited -- Assault: Sealed Booster tournament. Each player receives 1 booster of Dungeons of Dread to build a 100-pt. warband. Prizes to top finishers. Registration begins 1 hour prior to start. Players must bring either a Crossroads or Monster's Lair battle map.

200-pt. Limited -- Assault: Sealed Booster tournament. Each player receives 2 boosters of Dungeons of Dread to build a 200-pt. warband. Prizes to top finishers. Registration begins 1 hour prior to start. Players must bring their own battle map.

100-pt. Standard Constructed -- Assault: Standard-Constructed format tournament. Bring your best 100-pt. Standard warband. Prizes to top finishers. Registration begins 1 hour prior to start. Players must bring either a Crossroads or Monster's Lair battle map.

200-pt. Standard Constructed -- Assault: Standard-Constructed format tournament. Bring your best 200-pt. Standard warband. Prizes to top finishers. Registration begins 1 hour prior to start. Players must bring their own Standard-Legal battle map.

Championship Open #1: This is your last chance to win a spot in the 2008 Constructed Championship! Bring your best Standard-format warband. Prizes to top 8 finishers. Registration starts 1 hour prior to start. Players must bring their own Standard-Legal battle map.

Championship Open #2: This is your last chance to win a spot in the 2008 Constructed Championship! Bring your best Standard-format warband. Prizes to top 8 finishers. Registration starts 1 hour prior to start. Players must bring their own Standard-Legal battle map.

3rd-Place Trophy for Constructed Championship

2008 Constructed Championship: The top players in the world will compete with their best 200-pt. Standard warbands. The top 8 will split a $5,000 prize purse. Swiss rounds 1-6 on Saturday, rounds 7-8 on Sunday. Top-4 single-elimination finals follow immediately after round 8 on Sunday. You must have an invitation from Wizards of the Coast to compete. Registration begins 1 hour prior to start on Saturday.

Convention League: Challenge all league participants in our weekend-long league. Build a 100-pt. warband from 1 Dungeons of Dread booster. Change your warband after every game with minis from your pool. Win a new mini every 3 games to add to your pool. Only Generic Tickets will be accepted. Players only need to provide tickets once for the whole weekend of play.

iPod 400-pt. Epic Limited -- Assault: Sealed Booster tournament. Each player receives 2 boosters of Against the Giants to build a 400-pt. warband. Winner receives an iPod. Other top finishers receive boosters. Registration begins 1 hour prior to start.

Online Community 5th Anual Draft: This is a Draft event using 2 boosters (either Dungeons of Dread or Against the Giants). Please bring 2 of these boosters PLUS a prize to add to the prize pool. Prizes can be anything from boosters, rares, repaints, custom pieces, D&D books or misc. gaming items. All games will be run on custom maps. Each player will receive a map at the end of the event.

Original Artwork 200-pt. Standard Constructed -- Assault: Standard-Constructed format tournament. Bring your best 200-pt. Standard warband. Winner receives an original, framed piece of D&D Minis artwork. Other top finishers will receive boosters. Registration begins 1 hour prior to start. Players must bring their own Standard-Legal battle map.

4th-Place Trophy for Constructed Championship

4-player On Demand -- 100-pt. Limited: On Demand 100 pt. Limited, Assault, 4-player Tournament with 1 Dungeons of Dread booster per player. Single Elimination. These events run all weekend. Only Generic Tickets will be accepted for these events. You must provide tickets each time you play. Players MUST bring either a Crossroads or Monster's Lair Battle Map.

4-player On Demand -- 100-pt. Standard: On Demand 100-pt. Standard, Assault, 4-player Tournament. Single Elimination. These events run all weekend. Only Generic Tickets will be accepted for these events. You must provide tickets each time you play. Players must bring either a Crossroads or Monster's Lair battle map.

4-player On Demand -- 200-pt. Limited: On Demand 200-pt. Limited, Assault, 4-player Tournament with 2 Dungeons of Dread booster per player. Single Elimination. These events run all weekend. 4-player On Demand -- 200-pt. Standard: On Demand 200 pt. Standard, Assault, 4-player Tournament. Single Elimination. These events run all weekend. Only Generic Tickets will be accepted for these events. You must provide tickets each time you play. Players must bring their own Standard-Legal battle map.

4-player On Demand -- 400-pt. Epic Limited: On Demand 400-pt. Epic Limited, Assault, 4-player Tournament with 2 Against the Giants boosters per player. Single Elimination. These events run all weekend. Only Generic Tickets will be accepted for these events. You must provide tickets each time you play.

Monster Mash -- Bad to the Bone: Are you bad enough to be considered 'Bad to the Bone'. Take out the "good guys" before they take you down. You control one or more iconic D&D monster in a fight to be the last one standing. All miniatures are provided. Sponsored by Ottawa Red Shirts.

Monster Mash -- Good Guys! Prove it!: You have no fear of death, but what happens if they are already dead? Play on the Good side and see if you can take the bad guys. You control one iconic D&D good guy (or gal!) in a fight where only one may win. Sponsored by Ottawa Red Shirts.
