Bad Reptile-Nation
Recurring Villainy

Lots of people have an instinctual aversion to reptiles. They're creepy, they move weirdly, and they look like they're poisonous even when they're basically harmless, with their flicking tongues and scaly hides. We honor these creatures reptilian creatures the D&D rules so cunningly quantify by making them the focus of this installment of Recurring Villainy.

Presented here are 20 encounters ranging from EL 4 to 10. The leaders of this scaly squad are an odd pair but can be effective opponents for PCs of the proper level. Meepo the Dragonlord (eviled up and genericized for your campaign, of course) and his Large Green Dragon have gathered quite an array of reptilian and dragon-blooded minions.

These two figures are the only Rare miniatures used here. Feel free to substitute other figures of similar CRs if you lack one or both of these figures. All the miniatures used are drawn from the Desert of Desolation (DoD), Blood War (BW), Night Below (NB), and War of the Dragon Queen (DQ) expansions.

One method to help ensure the two Big Bads of this installment of Recurring Villainy survive long enough to play a major role in your campaign is never to have them meet the PCs alone until the final encounter. Heroes can be an unpredictable bunch, and many a DM's cunning plot has been derailed by a PC's action that the DM didn't foresee when setting up the encounter. Keep the Big Bads' minions nearby in case things begin to go badly for your main antagonist too soon.
