Dragon Rampage
Claim Your Spoils -- An Iconic Dragon!

Become a Dragon Slayer by taking part in our new, special event celebrating the Year of Dragons!

Give up now, and I may show mercy!Black Rampage

Compete against one of our Judges and see if you can beat -- and win! -- one of our Icon Black Dragons!

Build a 500-point Epic warband and compete against one of our judging staff. Win the battle and win the dragon! From 9 AM through 8 PM, at the top of each hour, you will be able to drop in and play against one of only two judges who are prepared to Tail Slap your warband into submission! No mercy will be shown as our hungry dragons chew their way through your forces. Do you have what it takes to win?

This will be an evolving event. If some hero manages to beat our dragon with 500 points, then only 450 points will be allowed for the next round, and so forth. Build points will drop 50 points each time the dragon is beaten. How low can we go! That's the challenge! Obviously, the greater the challenge, the greater the prizes -- a Blood War booster will be added from the dragon's treasure trove every time the point total drops. See onsite what the current build and prizes are.

Good luck, puny humans!Red Rampage

Compete against one of our judges and see if you can beat and win one of our Colossal Icon Red Dragons!

As a team of two both players, build a 500-point Epic warband and compete against one of our judging staff. Win the battle and win a Colossal Iconic! Each day at 11 AM, 2 PM, 5 PM (not Sunday) and 8 PM (not Sunday), two players will be able to drop in and play against one of our judges or a special guest prepared to Rend your warband into submission! No mercy will be shown as our hungry dragons stomp and claw their way through your forces. Do you have what it takes to win our dragon and maybe even some of its treasures?

This will be an evolving event. If a band of heroes manages to beat our dragon with 1,000 points, then only 900 points (450 per warband) will be allowed for the next round, and so. Build points will drop 100 points (50 per warband) each time the Colossal Red is beaten! How low can we go! That's the challenge? And the greater the challenge, the greater the reward -- two Blood War boosters (one per team member) will be added from the dragon's treasure trove every time the point total drops. See onsite what the current build and prizes are.

Note that this event is strictly first come, first served. We will do our best to fulfill as many chances as possible.

Triathlon Format

In our continuing effort to use GenCon SoCal as a proving ground for exciting, experimental tournament formats, we're introducing the Triathlon Format. This is a three-day series of D&D Miniatures tournaments in three different formats.

Thursday Morning: 100-pt. Constructed
Thursday Afternoon: 500-pt. Constructed
Saturday: 200-pt. Constructed Swiss Rounds
Sunday: 200-pt. Constructed Single-Elim Finals

Each event is a stand-alone tournament with its own entry and prizes. For the first time, however, DDMplayers will be able to compete in three Constructed tournaments with three different formats at a single convention.

Limited Qualifier

Standard Limited format. Each player builds the best 200-point warband possible from two sealed Blood War boosters. The prize is well worth battling for -- the top four finishers receive boosters and invitations to the national limited championship, and the top finisher wins a free trip to the finals at D&D Experience in Washington, D.C., in February '07.

Draft Championship

This is a standard Draft championship format, but it's also the first time this format has been used for an official D&D Miniatures tournament. Players draft their pieces from freshly opened Blood War boosters and build warbands from the drafted pieces, then square off.

Reverse Constructed

Be sure to check out this fan-generated format. Each player brings a 200-point warband -- and swaps it for his opponent's warband! That's right, you play the warband your opponent built. Start planning now to assemble the weakest, most pathetic warband you can imagine. Synergy? Bah! Cost-effective figures? Bah! It's trash time at these tournament tables!

Schedules

For detailed schedules for all of these events, see the latest GenCon SoCal events schedule.
