Legends of St. Patrick are wild and inspiring. To the Irish, Patrick is known as a shape shifter, miracle worker, prophet, preacher, and visionary. Legend tells us that Patrick preached a sermon from a hilltop that drove out all the snakes from the island. In myth and legend, snakes often represent evil. In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, let us pit the serpentine forces of evil against the priestly forces of good, and see who is driven from the battle map!
The people of Hibernia are living in terror. Venomous serpents have launched deadly raids into the surrounding farms. The subterranean lair of this foe has proven impenetrable, so the people appealed to the priests for help. The priests assembled a fine and holy army to rid the town of its evil foes. Plunging into the mushroom-infested caves, the holy army has located the unholy lair. Led by a great serpent, the venomous serpents launch their assault to repel the intruders. At last the showdown between good and evil begins!
The Mushroom Cavern map provides ample ground for this grand battle. Players will pit their best good, priestly warband against their opponent’s best evil, serpentine band. The 200-point themed warbands must observe the standard eight figure limit and be constructed according to the following criteria --
Good Priestly Band
Sample Good Warband (Any Good, 200 points) -- Patrick’s Homily
Evil Serpentine Band
Sample Evil Warband (Any Evil, 200 points) -- Fangs A Lot
Or, if that one has too many rares:Slyther
To organize a great St. Patrick’s Day skirmish, I suggest each player bring both a Good Priestly warband and an Evil Serpentine warband. Use random pairings to run a series of one-hour Assault skirmishes, and have a Happy St. Patrick’s Day! May the luck of the Irish be with you.
