Palsha, “The Platinum Emperor”: Sliver Dragon Samurai Over the years Palsha’s great victories and honor granted him prestige as he aged and gained greater power. He revealed his draconic form to the local emperor, and pledged his loyalty as protector of the emperor’s family. After hundreds of years of loyal service, the imperial family died when evil dragons of the west stormed the palace. Palsha then slew them all, leading the empire’s fearless samurai against the fearsome dragon army. He then ascended the throne in order to stop the empire he loved from falling into chaos. Palsha eventually left the empire to his daughter, who was wisest of his children, and retired to a cave—finally succumbing to his dragon nature. -- Balor von Balorvitch

This week we continue with the metallics—and ask you to choose your favorite gold dragon!
In the weeks ahead, we’ll be asking you to vote on your favorite entry within a given category (your favorite dracolich of the bunch, favorite brass dragon, etc.). Once we’ve narrowed the list of competitors, we’ll kick off the head-to-head bracket portion of our Creature Competition: Year of Dragons!
Gold Dragons
Foda, “The Sloppy”: Gold Dragon Monk/Rogue /Drunken Master Foda hatched in the high peaks above a monastery. Parentless and alone, he watched the monks in the practice yards to slake his loneliness, even mimicking their kata and meditation rituals. One autumn, the master of the monastery hiked to the top of the mountain and discovered Foda. He invited the gold to formally train, promising to do his best to adapt the lessons for a dragon. Foda accepted and for another two generations earned his tenth belt from the master and his descendants. -- Dragna the Claw
Galdronnal: Gold Dragon Bard Galdronnal, often using the name Gal, is a very curious dragon. With a deep love for music and knowledge, he often takes the form of a halfling child, wandering from place to place with his flute. His parents were killed by another dragon and its followers, but Gal managed to escape and now wanders on his own. He tells people he is looking for his parents, and asks to hear stories or songs. Those who show him kindness often find some sort of reward, but never learn the true identity of the benefactor. -- Ironballz
Injulah: Pseudonatural Gold Dragon Injulah once was a great and noble Gold Dragon, loved by many and hated by all evil doers. So noble was the Gold that, when approached with an injustice, Injulah would quickly right it. Once, Injulah, the magnificent and powerful, was approached by a group of desperate adventurers. They told the Gold of the Ithillid threat, how the dark and alien Mind Flayers were terrorizing the good people of the world. The Drake immediately sought the destruction of this race of brain eaters. It engaged them in battle, but never in Injulah's long years had the Drake seen such a vicious foe: the Gold had seen the rise and fall of Empires, the death of many a humanoids, but nothing like this. Eventually, Injulah sought a loremaster. The loremaster explained to Injulah the reason for the existence of the Mind Flayers, and told the Drake that the secret to the defeat of the Ithilids could only be found in the dark plane known as the Far Realm.
Injulah, fearless as ever, entered the Far Realm. After the Drake entered, he disappeared for years. Eventually the Ithillids were defeated, and Injulah all but forgotten. Finally, almost 700 years after the end of the Ithilid war, Injulah emerged....changed. -- lightman
Slurugana: Gold Dragon Slurugana was originally found on the spelljamming ship Soloran. When the captain of Soloran, Theldarin Lolandrian, discovered the egg during an off loading in spelljamming port of Crossroads, it appeared to look like an ostrich egg. After noting that he did not know where such an egg came from, as it was not on the manifest, Theldarin did not know what to do with it. He figured that at worst, he would throw it overboard, at best, he would have a huge breakfast.
After Theldarin decided to eat the egg and share it with the crew, he had his cooks make the attempt to cook the egg. After several hours and still no egg on his plate, Theldarin went to check up on the kitchen. Theldarin found his cooks arguing as to why they could not crack the egg. Theldarin decided to summon his spelljamming wizard Tilinior to try to discern what was going on since this was becoming apparent that this was no ordinary egg… -- Kilt Hooligan
Thalaraak, “The Once and Future Dragon”: Gold Dragon Paladin (fallen)/Dragonslayer/ Dragon Disciple (red) Thalaraak, once a name renowned, held in as high esteem as that of the Empress Queen he willingly served. The name has passed out of the minds of mortal men, but the creature who was Thalaraak lives on, servant to another queen, and waiting to be born anew...
There came a terrible wizard to the land Thalaraak once defended. The dragon, at the behest of his lady, assailed the mage's tower, and destroyed the evil spellcaster in a vicious battle… but did not escape it unscathed. With his last, dying breath, the wizard enacted a mighty transformation upon Thalaraak, stripping him of his draconic heritage, and trapping his mighty soul in the frail body of a human.
Today, Thalaraak is a single-mindedly devoted servant of Tiamat. Caring only for the return of his dragon's body, even if it is the body of a red, Thalaraak will carry any burden, pay any price to become dragon kind once more. -- Aneul
Trancantelama, “The Shadow in the Fire”: Gold Dragon Trancantelama, or Tranca as she prefers to be called, is a colossal gold dragon, even bigger than normal golds, but within her beats a heart as dark as any shadow dragons and as merciless as any other creature can be, if not more so. She is one of the three chief lieutenants of the Lord of Shadows, despite the fact that she is a more recent convert, and is totally devoted to her cause and charge, the seduction/corruption of all good dragons to the ways of the shadow. She often brags of being the Lord of Shadows’ consort, though the truth of these claims remain unknown. -- Sadrin_Thunderclaw Which gold dragon enters the Creature Competition?
