The Unity of Rings
The "Lost" Planescape Online Comic Book

The grand tour of the Great Wheel of the Outer Planes -- the basis for the Planescape line and never seen in print -- now appears as an online comic book!

It is a universe like no other, a great wheel of dimensions that range from the Heavens to the Hells, from the clockwork precision of Mechanus to the wild chaos of Limbo. It is home to devils, archons, proxies, and powers. It is the universe of Planescape, And at the heart of it all is the floating city known as Sigil.

Sigil is in the shape of ring, and set at the hub of a greater ring that contains the myriad Outer Planes. Over the course of the story, we follow yet a third ring, a portal key that opens the way to other realities as it passes from owner to owner around the Great Wheel. In this wheel we see the wonders of the Planescape universe.

This book was commissioned as a limited-edition promotional comic, completed but never released, and was believed to have been lost forever. The original pages unexpectedly turned up at the Wizards of the Coast offices during a move, and now are being seen by the public for the first time.

The story was conceived by the Planescape group -- Monte Cook, Michelle Carter, Colin McComb, Ray Vallese, and Andria Hayday -- and scripted by veteran planewalker (and experienced comic author) Jeff Grubb. It includes the art and lettering skills of Mark Heike, Brad Gorby, Chris Allen, and Bill Black, and colors by Barbara Brecker.

Jeff, by the way, is currently working in the planes once more: on a new version of the classic Manual of the Planes for D&D, to be released next year. Stay tuned for more details!
