Juz’la, Tainted One

A Tainted One
A Tainted One

As a Mid-Level Character

As Juz'la continually proved herself worthy of the most difficult missions, Zstulkk Ssarmn entrusted her with greater responsibilities -- and correspondingly more of his own secrets. The crux of her career occurred when Ssarmn sold her to the House of Cyric, the mad god's major temple in Skullport. Ssarmn had powerful enemies within the church of Cyric, and believed Juz'la was the key to eliminating their threat forever.

While posing as a mere slave in the House of Cyric, something occurred that neither Juz'la nor Zstulkk Ssarmn could possibly have predicted: Juz'la had a profound religious experience, and became a devout follower of Cyric. She confessed her mission to the clerics of the temple and offered to become a double agent. The clerics agreed, though they doubted Juz'la's sincerity and were ready to destroy her at the slightest misstep. To their surprise, she turned out to be as valuable to them as she had been to Zstulkk Ssarmn.

As a 7th-level character, Juz'la remains a slave within the House of Cyric, actively working for the temple against her former mentor.
