D&D Brand Manager Ryan Dancey selected our subject for this month's Character Closeup. "I like Devis, the bard," he said. "The illustration of Devis that appears in the Player's Handbook totally captures the 3rd Edition D&D bard concept. He wears his instrument like a weapon, and his weapon looks quick and deadly. He's charismatic -- not some fop with a little ditty between encounters, but the kind of guy you want to hang out with, because his table is always the best table at the inn."
