1999 Magic Worlds to Air Tonight on ESPN2

The 1999 World Championship finals for the internationally renowned Magic:
The Gathering trading card game are scheduled for broadcast this fall on
ESPN2. Held last week in Tokyo, Japan, the $250,000 Magic: The Gathering
World Championships featured the best in professional tournament competition
between national teams and individual competitors from 40 countries across the
globe.
ESPN2 will highlight play-by-play action of the final rounds in team and
individual competition, capturing the dramatic championship match between
competitors from the United States and Germany. Fans across the world who were
unable to attend the event can watch the strategic and competitive game play of
many of the top professionals of the Magic game, including the 1999
World Champion Kai Budde of Germany and American Pro Tour veterans Kyle Rose, Charles Kornblith, Zvi Mowshowitz
and John Hunka.
The 1999 Magic: The Gathering World Championships marks the third
consecutive year that ESPN2 is covering this international competition. ESPN2 is
ranked as a leading cable network for sports and is the 19th-most widely
distributed commercial cable network in the United States. It recently reached a
benchmark of 65 million subscribers and continues to steadily increase its share
of the network sports audience, ranking only behind the No. 1-viewed channel,
