agic: The Gathering comes to PAX East in full force March 26-28. With the Magic Online Live Series, Super Friday Night Magic, a Grand Melee, a packed schedule of public events, and deck building seminars with Mike Turian, there's something for every Magic player.
Held in Boston, Massachusetts, PAX East is a three-day game festival for tabletop, videogame, and PC gamers.
The 2010 Magic Online Live Series features a $5,000 cash prize pool. Urza's Saga Booster Draft qualifiers run all weekend, with the 8-person Urza's Saga Booster Draft final held Saturday night. In addition, all players who create a Magic Online account or fill out a survey on site will receive a foil Crystalline Sliver promo card and the opportunity to play in a free Magic Online draft! Super Friday Night Magic highlights the three-day public event schedule. Starting at 6 p.m. on Friday, this Zendikar Block Sealed Deck event will show why Friday night is the best night of the week. All participants receive one Ancient Ziggurat, the March 2010 FNM promo card, with top finishers receiving their choice of other promo cards plus Worldwake booster packs.
Get your Standard deck ready for Saturday's Grand Melee. Starting at 2 p.m., this huge event pits everyone against each other in one giant game. Attack to your left, defend to your right, and win one Worldwake booster pack for each player you eliminate. The last person standing takes home an 8gb iPod Touch!
There are tons of other public events available all weekend long—with Zendikar Sealed Deck, Minimaster, Standard, Booster Draft, and EDH events firing all the time, there's sure to be an event for you. Whether you are new to Magic or just want to learn some tips and tricks, be sure to come to the Deck Building 101 seminars and discover the ins and outs of deck building from Wizards of the Coast R&D. These seminars will be hosted by Mike Turian, Advanced Developer and Magic Pro Tour Hall of Famer, and will be held in Room 208 on Friday (4:30 – 5:30 p.m.), Saturday (2:30 – 3:30 p.m.), and Sunday (12:30 – 1:30 p.m.).
