2008 Magic World Championships Player Party and Registration

The world-famous Graceland will host the Worlds Player Registration and Party!

Our private party at Graceland will include admission to all the museum sites, including the house, the car museum, and the airplane, as well as dinner and music.

Buses will leave the Memphis Cook Convention Center on Wednesday, December 10 at 5:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to transport Worlds participants to Graceland for player registration and party. These buses will return to the Memphis Cook Convention Center at 9:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.

If you do not wish to ride the buses provided or you arrive later in the evening, please make your way to Graceland on your own. It is a short drive out of town. Here are some taxi options: Bartlett Taxi Co. 901 383-9000, Metro Cab 901 322-2222, Checker Cab Co 901 577-7777.

This party is limited to Worlds-invited participants, Worlds judges and staff. (A Worlds-invited participant who is a legal minor may bring an adult guardian, no other exceptions will be made.)

Registration for 2008 Worlds will take place at the same location from 6 p.m – 9 p.m. Players must have a signed waiver and consent form to compete at the 2008 World Championships. Forms can be downloaded at www.wizards.com/protour and will be available onsite.

Minors must have a parent or guardian’s signature on these forms. Minors will not be able to register or play unless we receive a waiver signed by a parent or guardian. No exceptions!

Bring these forms with you to registration. We will make forms available for competitors at registration, if necessary.

To register, all participants must present one of the following forms of identification:

  • a driver’s license, or
  • a passport, or
  • a copy of a birth certificate and photo IDs (school IDs are acceptable).

We encourage players to attend registration on Wednesday. However we understand that delays might cause players to miss this and we will have late registration on Thursday morning between 7:30 AM and 8:30 AM. Players at late registration do not always receive the same gifts as those at mandatory registration.

Players not registered by 8:30 a.m. on December 11 may be denied entry to the 2008 World Championships.
