Everyone Gets Something

Like physical Magic Prerelease Tournaments, every player who joins one of the Magic Online Scourge Release Tournaments gets something.

Following the tradition begun at the online Legions Release Tournaments, each player will get a Karona, False God tradeable avatar. As a digital object, it will show in your collection and you can trade it to other players. While an avatar digital object is in your collection, you can use it to represent you while playing Magic Online.

You get one copy for each of the Release Tournaments you play in, but you have to play through at least one round. If you drop before the tournament starts, you won't get an avatar for it.

After the Scourge Release Tournaments are over, you won't be able to get a Karona avatar unless you trade someone for it.

How Many Release Tournaments Will There Be?

The Scourge Release Tournaments will all run off the same queue. With the queue opening at 12 Midnight on June 25, here's how it works:

Each tournament requires 24 players to launch. As long as the 24-player minimum isn't hit, the tournament continues waiting for other players to join. Once 24 players have joined, the system waits to let other players register. As long as players keep registering, the tournament waits to launch. If players stop registering, the tournament will launch after a short wait with the number of players already joined.

Once 48 players join a tournament, the system launches that tournament immediately and spawns a new one.

The last Release Tournament will launch on June 26 at 10 PM PST. After that, the Release Tournaments still running will finish and the rest will be history.

Side Events

Also starting up at 12 Midnight on June 25 will be two new draft queues.

The first will be the changeover from Onslaught-Onslaught-Legions draft to Onslaught-Legions-Scourge draft. This is how the draft queue will run from now on, and prizes come from both sets.

During the Release (June 25 at 12 Midnight to June 26 at 10 PM), there will be a second new queue available: Scourge-Scourge-Scourge draft. This queue is only available until 10 PM on June 26, and the prizes will be all Scourge boosters.

Both draft queues will be standard cost: 2 Event Tickets plus product used.
