The Singaporeans stormed the Top 8, taking fully half the slots. The draft was chaotic, and only Alex Shvartsman seemed satisfied with his deck. That, plus his three other Grand Prix wins put him as the heavy favorite. With his elimination it was anyone's ballgame. Stepping up to claim his right was Ding Yuan Akuma Leong, whose lightning fast red-black deck sawed through control decks like nothing. He met Chang Chua, Shvartsman's destroyer in the finals, and though it went to three games, the outcome was never in doubt. Congratulations to Ding Yuen Akuma Leong, Grand Prix - Kuala Lumpur Champion!
