ere we are at the final step of "Selecting Eighth Edition": the basic land art. (The flavor text winners are going through editing, and we'll have them next week.)

For each of the five basic lands, you get to select four pieces of art from those provided. The four highest-scoring pieces will be those used in Eighth Edition. It's that simple.

The number of options varies from land to land. The available choices were nominated by our art and creative departments. Promotional lands were not used so that they would retain their "specialness." Similarly, the art contracts from Magic's early years prevent us from reusing any art from before Mirage. Other images were eliminated because they were too environment-specific as opposed to having the more "general" feel a base set should have.

Regardless, there are plenty to choose from. You can peruse all the options from the chart below, and then move on to the actual voting, wherein you'll check four boxes for each land before continuing.

All the pictures are thumbnails that will expand when you click them into full-sized versions of the art. Take your time to pore over them; there are many distinct and amazing styles available for each of the five lands.

This vote will run through the morning of Thursday, November 21. Winners will be announced shortly thereafter.
