TOURNAMENT FORMAT AND SCHEDULE
The format for Grand Prix-Hamburg is Odyssey™ Block Constructed. All DCI™ Constructed rules, Magic Floor Rules announced on August 1, 2002, along with all subsequent updates, will be enforced.

Friday, September 27:
Registration from 16:00 to 20:00
Saturday, September 28:
Late Registration from 8:00 -9:00. Tournament begins at 9:15. The tournament will be Modified Swiss style, with 50-minute rounds. The number of rounds will be determined by the number of participants in the tournament. The Top 64 players advance to the second day on Sunday.
Sunday, September 29:
Top 64 begin at 8:00, with six 50-minute Modified Swiss style rounds. The top 8 will immediately follow, with 90-minute limits for the quarter- and semifinals. The Finals will be untimed.
Players must use the same Block Constructed deck and sideboard in all portions of the tournament.

TOURNAMENT DIVISION AND PRIZES
The main tournament at Grand Prix-Hamburg is open to Magic players of all ages, and will award invitations to Pro Tour - Houston to the top 8 players in the tournament.

In the event that a player who wins an invitation to a Pro Tour stop at a Grand Prix has already qualified for an invitation, the invitation shall be extended to the next-best finisher in that Grand Prix. Previous qualification may be through a Qualifier tournament, through performance at a professional tournament, or by being an invited DCI player (valid upon the date of the official rank announcement for the appropriate professional tournament).

Grand Prix-Hamburg will feature the standard "main tournament" prize schedule as well as a special "Amateur" prize schedule. The Amateur prizes will be paid to the highest-finishing amateur players in addition to any winnings those players receive from the main tournament prize schedule . All prizes are in U.S. Dollars.

Arriving by train
Hamburg is easily accessible by train and boasts four train stations in addition to the main train station, those being Altona, Dammtor, Bergedorf and Harburg. Both InterCity (IC) and InterCityExpress (ICE) trains stop at all five stations. Dammtor is the closest railway station from the site.

By subway
The Hamburg Airport is not directly connected yet. You can get to the nearest station (U-/S-Ohlsdorf) via the U1, S1 or S11. The bus line 110 "Airport Express" operates between this station and terminals 1 and 4. Departures/arrivals every 10 minutes. The closest subwaystation to the venue is called 'Hallerstrasse' (Line U1)
