Cost
The entry fee for the 2009 Magic: The Gathering Legacy Championship is $24.00. Please note that admission to GEN CON is also required. Please visit www.gencon.com for more information.

Format

• Legacy Format
• No proxies of any kind are allowed
• Open to all players

Tournament Length

• Swiss rounds, 60 minutes per round
• Number of rounds based on attendance according to the following chart:

Advancement

• All players may participate in all Swiss rounds.
• The Top 8 players after the final Swiss round will advance to the Top 8 single-elimination finals.

Top 8

• Top 8 matches will be best 2 of 3.
• Top 8 matches will have no time limit.
• Where necessary, the standings after the Swiss rounds will still be used to determine final order in the standings.

Notes

• 48K, REL Competitive
• All Universal Tournament Rules and Magic: the Gathering Floor Rules are in effect for this event unless specifically overruled by information in this document
• Players must bring pen, paper, card sleeves and appropriate counters.

Prizes

• Winner receives receives a play set of Revised Edition Dual Lands (40 lands, 4 of each)
• Second receives one set of Revised Edition Dual Lands (10 lands, 1 of each)
• Boosters for other top finishers:
• 3rd – 4th place: 6 Italian Legends, 2 Black-bordered Italian Revised, 2 Chinese Portal: Three Kingdoms.
• 5th through 8th place: 4 Italian Legends, 1 Black-bordered Italian Revised, 1 Chinese Portal: Three Kingdoms.
• 9th through 16th place: 1 Italian Legends, 1 Black-bordered Italian Revised, 1 Chinese Portal: Three Kingdoms.

Legacy Format. Swiss rounds based on attendance plus single-elimination Top 8. Winner receives a 2-round bye at the 2009 Legacy Championship and an iPod Touch! Additional prizes to Top 8 including a From the Vault: Exiled to 2nd!
Cost: $20.00
• 1 p.m. Friday, August 14 – Legacy Championship Prelim

Legacy Format. Swiss rounds based on attendance plus single-elimination Top 8. Winner receives a 2-round bye at the 2009 Legacy Championship! Additional prizes to Top 8 including a From the Vault: Exiled to 2nd!
Cost: $18.00
• 12 p.m. Sunday, August 16 – Legacy Tournament

Legacy Format. Players compete in four Swiss rounds, no finals. Prizes based on record. Players with 4-0 records will each receive an iPod!! (If fewer than 32 players participate there will be 3 rounds of Swiss and iPods to 3-0 records)
