Create Your Own Magic
This July at the 2006 Junior Super SeriesTM Championship in Atlanta, we have contests for all JSS kids, not just the ones who win invitations to the Championship! It’s called the Magic: the Gathering® Create Your Own MagicTM contest. This is a perfect opportunity for JSS players to try their hand at creating and writing material for the game they love, win scholarships, and get information on careers in the gaming field.
At the Championship, players can turn in submissions in any or all of the following four categories: Game Design, Fantasy Art, Fiction Writing, and Strategy Article and Tournament Reports. The winning entry in each category wins a $1,000 college scholarship and a one-on-one discussion with the judges of the category regarding their work. All judges are Wizards employees who work in the categories they judge. It's invaluable feedback for any aspiring game industry member! You must attend the Championship to be able to enter your work in the categories above; even if you don’t win an invite to the Championship, make sure to make plans to attend!
