Magic: The Gathering Toolbox is more than a life counter. It also lets you build decks, research strategies, and find events, all from your mobile device.

Life Tracker

Do you mostly play in tournaments? Or do you prefer Commander games around the kitchen table? In Magic: The Gathering Toolbox, you can select from a number of premade settings (basic, tournament, Commander) and you can also configure your own settings in an advanced mode. One configuration can be saved, and you can customize most things about that game mode (except which [specific] players and per-player settings). Track life, poison, floating mana, Commander damage, and more! You can track up to six players per game and their save profile information for later. And on iPad, you can track up to eight players!

Card Search and Deck Builder

It's like having Gatherer in your pocket! Search and filter all 10,000+ Magic cards. When you are connected, the latest products will download and be added to your Card Search, at no cost.

With the deck builder, when Magic: The Gathering Toolbox launches, you'll be able to build decks for every card through the Dark Ascension set at no cost. If you want to add sets after Dark Ascension, it will cost $0.99 to unlock everything up to whatever set is current at the time. Thus, if you wait until there are two new sets you haven't yet unlocked, it's STILL only $0.99 to unlock everything.When a new core set comes out, it will be made available in the deck builder at no cost, and all previously locked sets will also become available. If you don't want to pay any money, you just have to wait for each year's core set.
