2 Eleasias, the Year of the Reborn Hero (1463 DR)

Viridi had asked the Harlot once what it was like to die.

The spy had hesitated. "You’ve never asked me that before."

"It didn’t matter before," the spymaster replied. Her cough had grown worse and her dark skin had an ashen cast, but her eyes were still bright and sharp. "But now I’m rather invested in your answer. So avail me agent: what have you learned?"

"I don’t recommend trying it," she said lightly.

Erin M. Evans got a degree in Anthropology from Washington University in St. Louis—and promptly stuck it in a box. Nowadays she uses that knowledge of bones, mythology, and social constructions to flesh out fantasy worlds. She lives in Washington State.
